St. Anthony’s Home Health Care Services offers Compassionate Care to our clientele who suffer from distressing, critical life situations. In addition, there may be chronic, debilitating illnesses and aging issues. As a result, some may have experienced a loss of independence, isolation, depression, hopelessness or fear.
Compassionate Care Services, a form of Spiritual Care
We define Compassionate Care as the capacity to enter into the world of others and respond with appropriate feeling and behavior. Simply put it is showing that we care.
Our model of Spiritual care is based on Compassion, Tolerance, Service, and Loving-Kindness. As such we call our Spiritual Care Services- Compassionate Care. We provide Compassionate Care that is non-denominational and non-dogmatic. While some of our clients are religious, we focus solely on compassionate care principles. We have to address and include many religious beliefs and non-believers. While we recognize that prayer may be used, we do not use it to proselytize or persuade anyone to embrace our particular religious perspectives.
We have created a Compassionate Care Companion Program that addresses our clients’ needs with the practices of deep listening, prayer and meditation. We found that this type of care gives our clients a sense of hope, comfort and peace in spite of illness, deteriorating health or adverse circumstances.
OUR COMPASSIONATE CARE COMPANIONS HELP CLIENTS FIND MEANING AND PEACE, AND EMPOWER THEM TO ADDRESS THEIR SPIRITUALITY TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES.
We offer support, comfort, gentle guidance, much as would a good friend. This approach does not replace the need for therapists or social workers but acts as a bridge to the use of such professionals.
Our Compassionate Care Companions are professionally trained to:
- Help bring peace and comfort
- Listen deeply
- Gently discuss issues
Compassionate Care Companions do not provide Therapy, Social Services, Coaching or Financial Advice.
Compassionate Care Companions visit clients at their homes and over the phone. Clients may have as few or many visits as they wish and all visits are free and confidential.
